Three Phase Power Calculator

Theory and Formula

In a three-phase system, electrical power is delivered more efficiently compared to a single-phase system, which is why it's commonly used in industrial and commercial applications.

The real power in a three-phase AC system is calculated using the formula:

P (kW) = √3 × V × I × PF / 1000

Where:

  • V = Line-to-line voltage (in volts)
  • I = Line current (in amperes)
  • PF = Power factor (dimensionless, typically 0.8 - 1.0)
  • √3 = Approx. 1.732, conversion factor for 3-phase systems
